Northeast can be the epicenter of cultural tourism: Assam Governor

“Cultural diversities and their richness have put northeast altogether on a higher position,” said Jagdish Mukhi, Assam Governor.  He was speaking at the 2nd Regional level National Song Competition organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad at Shilpagram, Guwahati on 7th October 2018.

The Governor said that it is because of the unique cultural qualities of the northeast, the region can claim to be a treasure trove and epicenter of cultural tourism of the country.

He congratulated the participants for their delightful display of different cultural facets of the region and advised them to dedicate themselves for the art forms and take the northeast to new heights.

“You people should take the responsibility of taking the colourful culture of northeast, wading all geographical boundaries and make the region famous for cultural tourism,” he added.

Mukhi lauded Bharat Vikas Parishad for organizing the regional competition and said that the event would inspire a sense of patriotism in the new generation and would enhance communal harmony and brotherhood. The Governor also exhorted the participants to work hard till they reach their goal, citing the famous quote of Swami Vivekananda.

Premjit Singh, Vice Chancellor Central Agricultural Universities of NE Region & Patron of Bharat Vikash Parishad (BVP);  Sitaram Pareek , NE Region Natioanl Coordinator BVP etc. were also present in the function.
