China’s National Day marks tourism boom

China’s National Day holiday marked massive tourist activities across the country. As per reports from the Ministry of Tourism, around 122 million Chines people travelled around the country on Monday, 1st October 2018. This is 7.54 per cent more than that of the same period in last year.

Revenue from domestic tourism for a single day reached around USD 15 billion, which is 7.19 per cent more than last year. This was revealed by the National Tourism Data Center.

China has been celebrating their 69th Anniversary of the formation of People’s Republic of China on Monday. Various celebrations were organized by the authorities in different parts of the country. Around 145,000 people visited the Tian’anmen Square in Beijing to watch the flag-raising ceremony in the morning.

In order to attract more people, the admission fees in several tourist destinations have been reduced or waived by the authorities.

Prior to the National Day holiday, around 97.9 million tourists were received across the country during the Mid-Autumn Festival holidays from 22nd to 24th September 2018.

First half of 2018 manifested around 2.8 billion domestic tourists travelling across the country, which was 11.4 per cent more than the same period last year, states the reports.
