Tribal Tourism Circuit is coming up in Chhattisgarh

K J Alphons, Union Minister of State for Tourism will inaugurate the ‘Tribal Tourism Circuit’ at Gangrel in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh on September 14.

The objective of the Tribal Tourism Circuit is to showcase the state’s rich and diverse tribal culture and traditions to the tourists. The key components for development under the project are ‘Ethnic Tourist Village’ and ‘Ethnic Tourist Development’, Destination Development and Wayside amenities. The project is being developed by Chhattisgarh Tourism Board.

The Tribal Tourism Circuit will be developed through Jashpur-Kunkuri-Mainpat-Ambikapur-Maheshpur -Ratanpur-Kurdar-Sarodadadar Gangrel- Kondagaon –Nathyanawagaon -Jagdalpur Chitrakoot -Tirthgarh in Chhattisgarh under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. The Chhattisgarh Government had been making tireless efforts to enhance the quality of infrastructure and provide basic amenities in the tourism circuits.

The Union Tourism Ministry had allocated Rs 99.94 crore to develop Tribal Tourism Circuit to highlight tribal culture to the domestic and foreign tourists in the year 2015-16.

The Tribal Theme is being implemented in these districts and the project will be completed in a phased manner. Similarly, other tourist circuits are also being developed. The project is expected to be completed by 2019-20.
