New Zealand promises matchless travel experience to Indian tourists

New Zealand is becoming one of the favourite destinations for Indians. During the past four years, number of Indian tourists to New Zealand has doubled from 33,000 to 66,000.

Considering this remarkable growth in the inbound tourists from India, New Zealand tourism has expanded its annual travel trade event, Kiwi Link India, this year.

“It is a platform for Indian travel agents, product managers and planners to interact with New Zealand operators and understand the new developments and market perceptions in the tourism sector,” said Steven Dixon, Regional Manager, South and South-East Asia, Tourism New Zealand, on his recent trip to India.

India is one of the significant markets for New Zealand and 2018 has been a fantastic year with more Indians visiting the country than ever before. By the end of May 2018, total arrivals from India were up by 20.7 per cent, while holiday arrivals increased by 18.8 per cent than the same period in the previous year.

As per Dixon the new videos, highlighting the unique point of difference, that is the people and culture, and feature New Zealanders welcoming, guiding and sharing their home with international visitors, has got wide acceptance among Indian tourists. This might have contributed to the increased inbound tourists from India.

New Zealand’s recent partnership with Singapore Airlines/Air New Zealand, Thai Airways, and Malaysia Airlines to showcase the range of one-stop flight options available to Indian travellers also helped to attract more Indians to New Zealand.

“We believe that we will continue to see double-digit arrival growth in 2018 and future,” added Dixon

Indian companies are increasingly looking at overseas incentive and team-building destinations, New Zealand claims to have an array of activities and experiences that can be customized to fit every traveller from India.

Dixon has observed a travel trend with Indian tourists is that visitors to New Zealand are becoming increasingly interested in interacting with the native people and culture. He assured the country will come up with providing all the requirements of the tourists from India.
