Qatar Tourism intensifies its effort to tap Indian market

With an aim to educate the travel trade on Qatar’s tourism offerings, Qatar Tourism Authority has recently conducted their first ever workshop at St Regis in Mumbai. Around 14 companies including DMCs and hotels participated in the half-day event.

“India has emerged as a very strong market for us. We are adopting different strategies for the India market and as of now our focus will be Delhi and Mumbai. In near future we will target the Southern region of India,” said Sanal Issac, Sales Manager, Gulf Adventures. “We can meet the expectations of Indian travellers that include food as well. Qatar can offer everything that a tourist likes-night life, alcohol, beach, etc.,” said Khalid AI Jaouni, Manager, Qatar International Adventures.

Deepali Bhujbal, Sr. Account Manager-Corporate & Leisure, Sheraton Grand Doha, said she is targeting leisure and MICE segments from India. “Our property is spread over 71 acres of land and has the largest business and conference facilities in Qatar with 25 meeting rooms. Apart from this, Qatar can be termed as a safe destination for everyone,” she said.
