Try some adventure in Bhopal this December

The state tourism board of Madhya Pradesh is organizing a three day adventure tourism event in Bhopal in collaboration with Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOPA) and international partner Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) from 3rd to 5th December.

While addressing the gathering at the curtain raiser programme of the event in Bhopal on Monday, Tourism Minister Surendra Patwa said it is the responsibility of the government to conduct the event successfully.

“The event named ‘Adventure Next’ is considered to be a recognition for the state, as ATTA has selected it to organize its first event,” said Hariranjan Rao, Principal Secretary of MP Tourism.

Adventure tourism is a major contributor of revenue to the state. As per Hariranjan Rao, 65 per cent of the revenue comes from adventure tourism. In the year 2017 the total revenue from adventure tourism was 683 billion dollars, when compared to 89 billion in 2009, showing a substantial increase during these years.

“People had a false notion that Madhya Pradesh has nothing to do with adventure tourism and it is going to be myth now.  Once the event become successful, MP will pin its place in the International tourism map,” said Hariranjan Rao

The Adventure Next programme will receive around 200 delegates from foreign countries and 200 Indian tourists. The main function will be inaugurated at the Minto Hall on December 3. The tourist will visit many places in the city and adjoining areas of Bhopal. A heritage walk will be organised on December 4.The pre-event programme start from December 1 when the tourist divided into six teams will reach Bhopal -crossing over six different locations. It will be a plastic free event, as per the instruction of ATTA.
