Virgin Atlantic introduces FlyingCo to attract SMEs in India

As part of celebrating its 18 years of commencing non-stop London – Delhi route on July 5, Virgin Atlantic has announced a new reward programme with additional rewards called FlyingCo for SMEs. The free-to-join rewards programme, businesses will earn FlyingCo miles on all aspects of business travel like flights, home stays, foreign exchange, in addition to FlyingClub miles that individual travellers earn being part of the regular loyalty programme.

“We have been working with both bigger and medium and small corporate entities in the Indian market. But what we needed was a better proposition. That is why we introduced the new FlyingCo programme. The SME earns as FlyingCo miles an extra 40 per cent of the miles that a Flying Club member earns when flying Virgin Atlantic and with partner airline, Delta. The “most exciting and generous” reward programme is tailor-made for SMEs,” David Hodges, Country Manager – India, Virgin Atlantic.

“Our ambition is to become the most looked airline in the world and in India. How we do that is by constant innovation and continuously enhancing customer experience. We are the only airline in India completely Wi-Fi enabled, Indian crew on board, offer best of Indian food and latest Bollywood and Hollywood entertainment,” he said.

Hodges also said that Virgin recognises the strong domestic and outbound travel trend out of India, and also exciting expansion opportunities present from stations in the South and Northern India. “We recognise these exciting opportunities and looking at them with lot of detail currently. While the Mumbai – US proposition with Jet Airways is growing tremendously, we also offer same day connection to JFK from Delhi through London which is quite popular. From next year, we will add Boston to our route which will add more reasons for US-bound travellers to use the carrier,” he added.

He said that while the airline is experiencing “well over 80 per cent average seat factor” on Delhi – London route and “pleased with it”, they are constantly trying to attract new segments of travellers.

To commemorate the 18th anniversary, the airline introduced a special offer with one way fares starting from Rs 46,794 in economy, and Rs 134,221 in Upper Class. These fares include taxes and charges are available for sale until July 9.
