International awards for Uday Samudra

Uday Samudra (UDS) Hotels at Kovalam in Thiruvananthapuram, has bagged the prestigious award for “Outstanding Commitments and Excellence in Service” in the field of tourism. Instituted by London based Anand TV, Rajasekharan Nair, Chairman and Managing Director of the hotel group has also been adjudged as the “Best Businessman in Tourism Sector”

The awards were presented by Ian Duncan Smith, MP of British Parliament, in a function held at London.

In addition to the above, Trivandrum-based “Jayan Samskariak Veedi” has conferred the “Best Business Man Award” to Rajasekharan Nair for his outstanding contribution in the field of tourism. Minister for Local Administration, K T Jaleel gave away the award to Rajasekharan Nair at a function held in Trivandrum.

Rajasekharan Nair started ‘Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel and Spa’ as a 4-Star facility with just 35 rooms and later obtained 5-Star status in 2014. In 2009, he started ‘UDS Sky Kitchens’ for Air India and Air Maldives, catering Indian and Continental delicacies to the passengers and crew of these 2 airlines. Luxury airport hotel, ‘Uday Suites’ with 45 premium rooms, close to the domestic and international terminals of the Thiruvananthapuram Airport, was launched in 2011.

He has also won awards for the best 5 Star hotel award felicitated by Kerala Tourism department and also won the best product award and an award for best manager in 2009, by the Kerala Tourism department.
