Be active, earn Qantas points

The Australian flag carrier Qantas is providing Qantas Points to its app users. So far about 200,000 people have been rewarded with 200 million Qantas Points. The points are generated by the airline’s own health insurance company, Qantas Assure.

Points can be generated via tasks, based on a list of activities like walking with the dog, cycling to work, taking the stairs, swimming and also early morning gym activities.

Additionally, the app has a Body Mass Index Calculator that gives extra 50 points for being in shape. The 200 million Qantas Points gained so far equates to over 3500 business class flights, and 5000 economy flights.

“We’ve heard stories from customers who have lost weight and gained a new lease on life by being motivated to step up their daily activity. Those points can then become a well-deserved reward, from a weekend away to new pair of sunglasses” said Brian Funston, executive manager Qantas.
