Aircraft museum attracts visitors

Indian Navy aircraft TU-142M in Visakhapatnam, that has been turned out into a museum attracts visitors, as part of the ongoing summer vacation. The structure is located opposite to the famous Submarine museum at RK Beach road in Visakhapatnam.

About 1600 to 1800 visitor footfalls on weekdays and 3000 to 3200 on weekends are marked by the museum authorities. The aircraft has served the nation for the past 29 years and was decommissioned back in 2017.

Besides the aircraft, there is also an exhibition, which showcases the various parts of an airplane such as – propeller, engine, survival kit, anti-submarine missile, data recorder for educational reference.

The museum to a large extent inspires children and youths in joining the Air Force. Currently, the museum is monitored and supervised under the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA).
