Maharashtra makes Covid negative for visitors coming from Delhi, Gujarat, Rajastan and Goa

In an act of precaution, the Maharashtra state government has decided to make Covid-Negative Certificate (RT- PCR test) mandatory for visitors to Maharashtra from the states of Delhi- NCR, Rajasthan, Goa, and Gujarat since a spike has been observed in the covid 19 cases at these states. Maharashtra, once badly hit by Covid, is now on a path of recovery and these guidelines are meant to keep a check and to avoid a relapse.

The rule will be applicable to passengers coming in both flights and trains, who will have to produce the negative test results before boarding from their respective destinations.  In case of flight travel, the test should be carried out at least 72 hours before arrival in Maharashtra. This would be 96 hours in the case of trains and will be applicable to trains that stop or end journey in any of Airports will be equipped with test centers for those not able to take the tests where the test will be mandatory at the cost of the traveler before they are allowed to proceed further.

In case of trains, those passengers who have not undergone RT-PCR tests will be tested for symptoms at the station on disembarkation. If they happen to show any symptoms, Rapid Antigen tests would be conducted immediately.

If the mode of travel is by road, passengers from the mentioned states will be tested for symptoms and only asymptomatic people would be allowed entry. Passengers showing symptoms will have the option of returning back to their homes.
