WTTC partners with ATTOI to issue ‘Safe Travel Stamp’

WTTC ATTOI safe travel stamp

COVID 19 has changed the world order and the Travel and Tourism industry has been the worst hit. In order to usher in the new normal and build trust in travellers to travel again World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has come out with a global standard. WTTC has curated a ” SAFE TRAVELS STAMP ” as the new symbol of Trust for Travel and Tourism industry. Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI) has partnered with WTTC for India, to promote and propagate this trust with tourism businesses in India. The World Travel & Tourism Council represents the Travel & Tourism sector globally and the Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India is a national level apolitical trade organisation, committed to promoting tourism in India.

WTTC alongside its Members, governments, health experts and other industry associations are working together to achieve effective recovery protocols by developing meaningful action plans that optimise sector-wide recovery efforts. Part of WTTC protocols includes providing the public & private sectors with the insights & toolkits for interaction & implementation to ensure that people are and feel safe however WTTC, its members and the sector does not guarantee 100% safety. It is paramount to have common rules. Ultimately, WTTC envisions a future of travel which is safe, secure, seamless and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to the traveller across the journey; one which supports the livelihoods of millions and contributes to sustainable economic growth.

WTTC will be introducing protocols in phases and for at least eleven industries, including; Hospitality, Attractions, Outdoor Retail, Aviation, Airports, Short Term Rentals, Cruise, Tour Operators, Convention Centres and MICE, Car Rental and Insurance. The protocols align the private sector behind common standards to ensure the safety of its workforce and travellers as the sector shifts to a new normal. These protocols take into account current WHO and CDC guidelines, they are living documents, which we will be updated regularly.

WTTC believes standard protocols globally will bring order in ensuring authenticity and trust, to bring back travel and tourism on its feet again. Safe Travels stamp will build confidence and create comfort in travellers globally, to get them to travel and holiday as in pre-COVID times. ATTOI wishes to be the game-changer for India in this global effort of WTTC. By authorising ATTOI as the nodal agency for India WTTC has shared a huge responsibility and ATTOI wishes to embark on this journey of building trust in this new world era to bring in the change.
