Marriott opens new 516-room property in Orlando, close to Walt Disney World

JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort

Marriott International has opened a second hotel under the JW Marriott badge in the Orlando area. The JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa is a 516-room property close to Walt Disney World and about 30 minutes from Orlando Airport.

It includes the debut of the brand’s new family suite concept, which offers views of the nightly theme park fireworks displays, shuttle service to Disney Parks, loft beds, larger living areas and spa-like bathrooms, says a report by Travel Weekly.

A Kids Conservatory is designed for games and crafts, and an Activities Garden features a rock-climbing wall, a minigolf course and an open lawn with a giant chess board and other games. Adults can seek refuge in a 10,000-square-foot spa.

Marriott’s flag also flies over the nearby Grand Lakes Orlando, a property with both a Ritz-Carlton and a JW Marriott that between them offer 1,582 rooms.

Meanwhile, an 82-room Fairfield by Marriott hotel opened recently in Brooklyn Centre, Minnesota. Located at 6250 Earle Brown Drive, the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Minneapolis North will operate as a Marriott franchise owned by Empire Hotels Group. Rudra Management of Cheektowaga, New York, will manage the property.

Situated next to the historic Earle Brown Heritage Centre, the hotel is eight miles from downtown Minneapolis.
