TAAI seeks refund from airlines for the benefit of agents

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) on Wednesday said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has informed all airlines to revert back within 24 hours with solutions to refund the various amounts due.

MoCA said solutions have to be found to refund agents’ money in float account as advance and provide refunds as cash to agents for the benefit of their customers/passengers.

MoCA has asked the airlines to cooperate or else they will have no option but to issue a directive on the same, TAAI said. The ministry will get into a call with airlines to ensure the refund of float account as top priority, the national office bearers of TAAI added.

The deliberations were carried out over a video conference call with Pradeep Singh Kharola of MoCA and DGCA officials, along with the senior management of IndiGo, SpiceJet, GoAir/Vistara etc.
