Club Med unveils exciting experiences at its newly renovated resort in Mauritius

Club Med’s newly renovated La Pointe aux Canonniers resort in Mauritius was inaugurated by Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med on June 6, 2019. More than 200 guests from 20 countries around the world attended the inauguration to experience the new face of the resort. Elected officials, partners, investors, journalists, local actors and institutions discovered all the new experiences offered to guests such as the new family zone and the new zen zone exclusively reserved for adults.

Carried out in 2018 and over a short period of 5 months, the renovation and extension work of Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers represent a global investment of 42 million Euros, in partnership with COFIVRA, the owner of the resort. With its new structures, the resort contributes to fully reinforce Mauritius’ prestige and attractiveness on an international scale that will attract new customers from Asia.

Located about 1.5 hours away by car from the international airport, on the north of Mauritius, on a preserved site in Grand Bay, Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers offers an exceptional setting all year round due to a mild tropical climate. The contemporary architecture and design of the resort, inspired by Mauritian culture, allow guests to experience a real immersion in the island’s culture.

With a new area dedicated to families, the resort is particularly suitable for multi-generational families. This space entirely designed for parents and children with its family pool – with spirals and water arches – allows families to spend time together and create holiday memories. The new zen space created close to a quiet beach with a zen pool and a healthy bar at the resort is specially designed for relaxation. To extend this moment, adults can enjoy body and face treatments in the new Club Med Spa by Cinq Mondes. Also a complete range of childcare facilities, from 4 months to 17 years old included, is available for guests.

An evolutive ‘all day dining’ concept at the new ‘Alma Beach Lounge’ allows guests to discover new culinary experiences and flavours of Mauritius in an idyllic location by the sea. In partnership with Fabrice Sommier, ‘French Worker of the Year 2007’, the resort also offers its guess the opportunity to discover its wine and rum cellar.

For the ones who love sports and water activities, the resort offers wide range of activities and particularly nautical ones like water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving. Guests can try or improve their skills in different disciplines, get new sensations, discover new passions and bring home more than just memories. The resort is also the ideal starting point to discover all the rich Mauritian culture with a wide range of day and half-day excursions.
