World’s largest cricket stadium is coming up in Ahmedabad

 

World’s largest cricket stadium, with seating capacity of over 1 lakh is coming up at Motera in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Cricket Association vice-president Parimal Nathwani on Sunday tweeted out pictures of the stadium under construction, stating that the dream project of the state cricket board will become a symbol of pride for the nation.

“World’s Largest Cricket Stadium, larger than Melbourne, is under construction at Motera in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Once completed the dream project of GujaratCricketAssociation will become pride of entire India. Sharing glimpses of construction work under way,” tweeted Parimal Nthwayi.

The stadium is said to be built across 63 acres of land and is being designed by renowned architect firm M/s Populous. The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 700 crore and the construction tender has been given to Larsen &Tubro. The infrastructure inside the stadium includes three practice grounds and an indoor cricket academy.

It is reported that the parking area can accommodate 3,000 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers and there will be 76 corporate boxes.

“There will be a concourse to connect the entire stadium for pedestrian and vehicular movement. Moreover, the club house will be equipped with 55 rooms and an Olympic size swimming pool,” stated Nathwani.
