Ajman plans to launch a central square in the emirate

Ajman Municipality plan to create a central square in the emirate to attract more tourists. The project is expected to be launched in early 2019.The Ajman Square project will include a number of cafes and restaurants, an open-air seating area and a walking track to encourage people to gather in one place.

“The project highlights Ajman’s unique identity and aims to improve its living environment, by raising the emirate’s quality of life,” noted Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department.

“The square will enable visitors to practice sports on a walking track and the open-air seating areas will draw the people to one place,” he added. “The square is an outcome of a retreat held in 2016, which recommended the launch of various initiatives that will present a new vision of the emirate and will improve tourism, said Ismail Al Hosny, director of the project.

He further said that the implementation of the ‘Ajman Pulse Project’ was recommended which includes a range of projects that highlight the beauty of the emirate.

“The square is the first project that the department will launch, and will be followed by murals and sculpture projects,” added Al Hosny.
