Realme launches 25-megapixel selfie camera in India
Realme, a spinoff from Chinese phone company Oppo, has launched Realme U1 in India, featuring a 25-megapixel front camera. Expanding the company’s range of budget smartphones, Realme U1 aims to impress the young audience.
The Realme U1 is also the first phone to launch with the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, which brings improvements in terms of power and efficiency, in addition to better AI performance.
The Realme U1 features big 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2350 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display, featuring a water drop-style notch. The octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset with four Cortex A73 cores and four Cortex A53 cores, is paired with either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. Unlike many other smartphones, the Realme U1 has a dedicated microSD card slot, allowing you to use two SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously.
The Realme U1 has a 25-megapixel front facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 0.9um pixel size and a Sony IMX576 sensor. It is also employing pixel binning technology to improve low-light performance of the front camera. The AI beautify feature tracks up to 296 facial recognition points, which would be one of the reasons Realme is hyping up the phone’s selfie prowess. On the back, the U1 has a 13-megapixel primary camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera.
Other features of the Realme U1 include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery. The phone is priced at Rs 11,999 for the 3GB variant and Rs 14,499 for the 4GB variant. It is offered in Brave Blue, Ambitious Black and Fiery Gold colour options and will be available on sale exclusively on Amazon from 5 December.
