Air Arabia to start Prague operations from Sharjah

Air Arabia is all set to open new route to Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, from December 11, through its hub Sharjah. The new route will offer good connectivity from 13 stations in India to Prague. The carrier will operate four frequencies a week. “The inaugural return ticket is starting from Rs 37,000,” said Sachin Nene, Country Head, Air Arabia.

“To promote the new route, we will launch massive outdoor and radio campaign pan-India commencing September 1. While many full-service carriers operate to Prague, Air Arabia will offer good value to the travellers. Out of the four operations to Prague, two flights will offer very well connection to Indian flights from 13 destinations in India, while the remaining two will offer convenient connection to the GCC flights, another key market for Air Arabia,” he said.

Terming the Air Arabia connectivity to Prague from Sharjah a significant one for Czech Tourism, Arzan Khambatta, Head-India, Czech Tourism said that it will be a big boost to the targeted 1 lakh Indian tourists to Czech Republic by 2019. He said that while Prague is quite popular among Indian tourists, the focus is to introduce more destinations in Czech to Indian trade.

“Although many full service carriers offer connections to Prague from different hubs, Air Arabia connection will be significant since it connects many tier II and III cities in India. Other carriers operate either from Delhi or Mumbai. Air Arabia has service to 13 points in India,” said Roman Masarik, Deputy Head of Mission, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Czech Republic in India.

When asked about chances of direct flights between India and Czech Republic, the Deputy Head of Mission said that there is an open sky regime existing between the two countries, and issues of direct connectivity, etc., will be negotiated at the forthcoming visit of Indian President to the Czech Republic.
