Experience the Wonder on Wheels

Palace on wheels is one among the luxury train services in India, that aims to promote Rajasthan tourism in co-operation with Indian Railway. The train which began its service back in 1982, relaunched in 2009 with new itinerary and facilities.

Palace on wheels has all the ingredients that Rajasthan tourism offers in terms of its rich culture and heritage. The train’s interiors were designed by designer Monica Khanna with the wide use of furniture, paintings and handicrafts.

The train has achieved various awards from in and around the globe. The global travel magazine ‘Conde Nast’, selected the train as the 4th best train in the world, especially in Asia.

The train consists of coaches named after Rajput states -Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungargarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, Sirohi and Udaipur.

The train offers 24 hrs internet as well as room service to everyone on board. Each cabin of the train gives a royal approach. It also has attached toilets with all modern amenities.

The dining section is divided into two categories namely Maharaja and Maharani that houses two royal restaurants, and offers various Rajasthani cuisines made by expert chefs.

Another attractive feature is its sitting launch, specially made for relaxing and socialising, followed by a spa that offers all types of rejuvenation programs on the move. A souvenir shop attached to the train sells all types of ethnic artefacts for the travellers.

The train has a dedicated bar that serves all types of liquor as well as fine wines available internationally. The itinerary consists of 7 to 8 days that starts from New Delhi, Jaipur, Ranthambhore, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Agra and back to Delhi. Service of the train starts once in a year from September to April.
